Watercolours & collage

Painting and printmaking run side by side in my work, and increasingly my garden is reflected in both. My watercolours and collages grow from the wildflowers I encounter in the Speyside landscape and the plants I raise in the garden and polytunnel, often brought into the studio and set among ceramics, patterned papers and natural finds from the shelves.

I was elected a member of the Royal Watercolour Society in 2016. New paintings are shown mainly in an ongoing series of solo exhibitions at The Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh, as well as at selected galleries elsewhere.

"Stylised pattern and nature are not separated, but completely intertwined."
– Simon Martin, Pallant House Gallery, writing in 2020

Cultivated Colour

My latest show at The Scottish Gallery, Cultivated Colour, continues until 24 October 2026. The paintings follow the garden through the year, from the earliest snowdrops to agapanthus and dahlias still flowering into autumn, alongside indoor pelargoniums that each carry their own story. "Angie Lewin is, above all, a colourist. Her colour is cultivated, experienced and lived."
– Christina Jansen, The Scottish Gallery
