My British Blanket Company Collaboration
I'm delighted to share this collection of blankets, made in collaboration with The British Blanket Company. Four of my designs — drawn from meadows, coastlines and woodland — have been faithfully rewoven in Lancashire, translating printmaking into cloth for the first time. Jacquard weaving lets each pattern sit in the yarn itself rather than on the surface, so every blanket is fully reversible, with a soft brushed finish and a contrasting blanket-stitch border in 80% recycled cotton.
Each of the four designs — Meadow Grass, Field's Edge, Rockpool and Forest Floor — began as sketches from nature, developed into linocuts or woodblock prints before being woven at a much larger scale than the original prints, revealing detail that's easy to miss on paper. Only fifty blankets have been made in each colourway, so these are true collector's pieces.
